430 Stainless Steel Magnetic Woven Wire Mesh
T-430 stainless steel wire mesh is a versatile and cost-effective option for filtration, screening, sieving, and separating applications in various industries, including food processing, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, petroleum, and natural gas. Its good corrosion resistance and mechanical properties make it suitable for use in harsh environments, while its lower cost compared to other stainless steel alloys makes it an economical choice.
SS430 Analysis
T-430 stainless steel is a commonly used ferritic stainless steel alloy, with a chromium content of 16-18%. It cannot be strengthened or hardened by heat treatment, but it displays good resistance to chemical attack and high temperatures when compared to T-410 stainless steel. T-430 stainless steel is also more resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments.
T-430 stainless steel is magnetic and has lower thermal expansion and higher thermal conductivity than austenitic stainless steels. It is commonly used in applications that require good corrosion resistance, heat resistance, and mechanical properties, such as automotive exhaust systems, kitchen equipment, and architectural and decorative applications.
While both 430 stainless steel and 304 stainless steel are popular choices for wire mesh applications, there are some key differences between the two. One of the most significant differences is that 304 stainless steel is not magnetic. Additionally, 430 stainless steel is less expensive than 304 stainless steel, making it a more cost-effective choice. However, 304 stainless steel offers better corrosion resistance and is a more versatile material overall.

Characteristics
Here are the characteristics of 430 stainless steel woven wire mesh:
- A Ferritic Stainless Steel and is magnetic, making it suitable for use in applications where magnetic properties are required.
- Exhibits good resistance to corrosion in a variety of environments, including mild acids, alkalis, and organic solvents. However, it may corrode in highly acidic or chloride environments.
- Can withstand high temperatures up to 1500°F (816°C) without experiencing significant oxidation or scaling.
- Highly ductile and can be easily formed into different shapes and sizes without losing its structural integrity.
- Have a low thermal expansion coefficient, which means it can withstand thermal stress without deforming or cracking.
- Have good mechanical properties, including high strength and toughness, making it suitable for use in demanding applications.
- Compared to other stainless steel alloys, 430 stainless steel is relatively low-cost, making it an economical choice for applications that require good corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.
Applications
Based on the characteristics of 430 stainless steel woven wire mesh, it finds extensive application in kitchen and catering, medical and pharmaceuticals, petroleum and chemical, construction and decoration, automotive and transportation manufacturing, power and energy, electronics and electrical manufacturing, environmental protection and water treatment, agriculture and food processing, mining and metal processing, and other related fields.
